POLIC Y

RTA heavy vehicle checking stations

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) operates heavy vehicle checking stations at Willow Tree, Twelve Mile Creek, Mt White, Bell, Mt Boyce and Marulan.

Cameras are installed at these locations to record the details of heavy vehicles which fail to enter the stations.

All NSWFB vehicles weighing over 4.5 tonnes or having a Gross Vehicle Mass greater than 8 tonnes must enter RTA checking stations if not responding to an incident. The majority of NSW appliances exceed these limits.

Whenever an appliance is travelling past a checking station it must enter the checking station unless under lights and sirens or otherwise directed by the RTA.

[Please note: Sections of this article have been suppressed by the webmaster for privacy reasons. ]

This instruction rescinds In Orders 1991/8, First aid kits (appliances - trauma kits) and should be read in conjunction with In Orders 2001/13, Direct supply of general stores to fire stations.

The introduction of the Emergency Medical Treatment (EMT) pack to stations throughout NSW started in July 2004. In conjunction with the introduction of the EMT pack the following replacement pack and assorted items have been included in the Direct Supply of Consumable Stores Contract.

Replacement of consumable items in the EMT pack should be in accordance with the training provided in the current Advanced First Aid Course. Any request for replacement items must be submitted through a qualified person.

The Officer-in-Charge of a lock-up station should ensure that the nominated delivery address is a secure area for the receipt of goods ordered.

For enquiries on repair, maintenance or replacement of the Oxygen Regulator component of the EMT pack contact the Hazardous Materials Response Unit at Greenacre.
