All suggestions for introducing new or for changing/improving existing equipment and protective clothing must be submitted through your Area Commander/Manager to the Equipment Development Unit for evaluation and development.

Note: In accordance with In Orders 2000/25, Procurement of equipment - interim arrangements, no equipment other than that which is available through ESCAT may be purchased without the approval of the Equipment Steering Committee.

2. Evaluation and development

Suggestions will be evaluated by the Equipment Development Unit in consultation with relevant specialist areas to ensure that they meet the NSWFB’s:

· operational needs

· occupational health and safety requirements, and

· purchasing policies.

The Equipment Steering Committee is responsible for approving projects to introduce or change operational equipment or protective clothing.

Operator/ICV Driver, Sydney Communication Centre
