Rehabilitation Coordinator, Clerk Grade 9/10

Position No: 740301. Clerk 9/10 Corporate Head Office, Sydney. Full-time. Total remuneration package valued to $74,696 pa including salary ($61,987 – $68,309), employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading.

Duties: Manage the NSW Fire Brigades’ Return to Work Program, ensuring that employees are provided with timely and effective workplace-based services to enable speedy recovery and early return to work.

Selection criteria: High level understanding of legislation and government policy and guidelines with respect to injury management, rehabilitation and workers’ compensation. Extensive experience in return to work case management and skills and experience in a supervisory role. Highly developed analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Highly developed communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships within and outside an organisation. Completion of a WorkCover accredited Rehabilitation Coordination Training course or an exemption from WorkCover. Proven ability in the use of various computerised information management systems. Current driver’s licence. Common selection criteria also apply.

Public Affairs Officer, Clerk Grade 5/6

Position No: 826019. Clerk 5/6. Full time. Sydney CBD but may be located in Sydney suburban area in the future. Total remuneration package valued to $66,168 pa including salary ($54,342-$59,962), employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading.

Duties: Work in a small team to deliver consistent quality public affairs, corporate communication services, advice and support across the NSW Fire Brigades. Provide public and media relations on non-incident related matters, on behalf of a Region, to ensure that issues are managed effectively and a positive image is promoted in the community. The position holder may be required to work outside normal business hours.

Selection criteria: Sound experience in media relations and internal communication. Well?developed written and oral communication skills. Experience managing contentious issues. Strong experience communicating with internal and external audiences. The ability to work in a team. Good analytical, project management and research skills. Demonstrated understanding of the effectiveness of different communication tools, and of communications strategy and principles. Understanding of the NSWFB’s role within the government and community. Common selection criteria also apply.

Duties: This position operates in a multi-faceted environment, providing administrative and secretarial support services to assist the efficient day to day operations of the Risk Management Directorate by providing, records/file management, accounting, telephone/receptionist, administrative and confidential secretarial support services to senior staff to assist the day-to-day operation of the Risk Management Directorate.

Selection criteria: Superior word processing ability with high level computer literacy. Extensive experience in a wide range of administrative support services. Demonstrated experience in computerised file management techniques. Working knowledge and experience in finance/accounts and purchasing. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Good organisational skills. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and prioritise workload in a dynamic environment using initiative and discretion. Commitment and capacity to deliver quality customer service and the ability to work in a team environment. Common selection criteria also apply.

Motor Mechanic (Fire Vehicle Repairer)

Position No: 916021. Logistics Support Directorate, Greenacre. Temporary full-time. Award – Salary range: $786.00 – $838.70 per week gross, plus a tool allowance of $22.70 per week plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading.

Duties: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and appliances associated with the operation of the NSW Fire Brigades.

Selection criteria: A TAFE Certificate or an equivalent certified trades course as a Motor/Diesel Mechanic (MVRIC licensed). Experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles (alternative experience with light vehicles will be considered) and plant. Willingness to undertake additional training. Capacity to be trained in basic computer data entry. Must be available to work shifts, overtime, on-call work and travel within the State for a period of up to 5-6 days at a time. Common selection criteria also apply.
